Hello all,
Using various topics on this forum, I believe I have figured out how to build my portable.
Since my computer wont let me upload the picture for some reason, I'll try and orally explain it.
20 oz. CO2 chamber or other air source >>>>Regulator>>>>>Some type of hose>>>>>blowgun>>>>>cloud bbmg
the >>> symbolize what leads to what.
But I have some questions.
1) Where can I get a regulator?? I looked at a paintball website, but they only had guages, not regulators
2) Can I use an ordinary air compressor hose if I try to run CO2 or will that not work?? I think it should. My only concern is the hose cracking due to liquid CO2, but I'll mainly be shooting it on extremely warm days when there shouldnt be any more liquid in the tank
3) If I can't use an ordinary air compressor hose, what kind can I use??
4) If I can't use an ordinary air compressor hose, then will whatever other type of hose I use hook up to the blowgun?? If not, is there some sort of fitting I would have to get to allow it to??
Thanks for your time and answers, like I said, I know the idea has been around, I'm just going to test it out and need to know the answers to the above questions.

1) pamler's pursuit look up the female stabilizer. contact Scope (on spudfiles) for all your regulator needs.
2)yes, but you wont be running liquid co2 thru it, hopefully. it should be fine, as long as its pressure hose
3) pressure hose
4) just get pressure hose, a barbed hose fitting, and clamp that into the pipe, then thread that inot the bowgun and on the otherside do teh same except into the reg.
EDIT: if you want to make this thing long lasting get a 5lb co2 tank with regulators and fittings etc.( i can explain later), however, it wont be as "portable". im not sure how long a 20oz co2 tank will last you tho. |

There will be liquid in the tank unless you heat it up really hot, or you use it up, but at that point your pressure will begin dropping. Just try to keep the tank upright and you will be fine.
You can buy stainless lines for remotes or refilling tanks, or macro line, and fittings to connect parts. And they both handle CO2 (even in liquid form) just fine. Just don't cheap out on hose. Remember, this gas is held at 800 to 1000 PSI, depending on the temperature.
If possible, get a paintball remote, and a regulator that has a 1/8NPT inlet. That way you can have the CO2 run through the tube first so it warms and expands before going into the regulator. Otherwise, if you get liquid in your regulator it may freeze up or just let liquid through, defeating it's whole purpose.
If you don't understand, let me explain how to hook that up. First, the ASA adapter from the remote hooks to the tank, the hose hooks up to that, then the regulator hooks to the hose, and a hose comes out from the outlet of the regulator (to a ball valve?) to the input of your BBMG.

$$79 bucks!!!! I dunno if I can afford that, may have to just stick to an old air compressor tank for now until I get some money... or check ebay...
Oh and if I bought an HPA paintball tank, those have the regulators built in correct? |
