This is for those that are having difficulty posting images. If someone is having a problem posting an image, please link them to this post.
Posting Images: A Step-By-Step Guide.
1. You must have the image on your computer’s hard drive to start. You may acquire an image either from a digital camera, scanner, or other source.
2. Once the image is saved in a folder on your machine, you’ll need to upload the image to a free hosting service. My personal favorite is ImageShack, but there are many free image hosting services available.
3. Open your browser and go to ImageShack (or other hosting service).
4. Click the Browse button on that page to select an image to upload. You do NOT need to provide an email address in the next box.
5. If your image is bigger than 800x600, you may check the “resize image?” box to have your image automatically resized. Choose a size 800x600 or smaller.
6. Uncheck the “Yahoo Jobs” box – this annoying little ad is how ImageShack makes their money and stays alive, just like the ads on SpudFiles – a necessary evil.
7. Click Host It!
8. On the page that appears, highlight the text in the “Hotlink for forums (1)” box by clicking the cursor into the text area – the text should be highlighted. Copy it to the clipboard (Ctrl + C on the keyboard or right click the highlighted text > Copy).
9. Paste that “code” into your forum post where you would like the image to appear.
Peace,
Pete Zaria. |

For PhotoBucket Users:
Photobucket allows you to have an album, meaning you can upload all your images to one place and keep them there.
1) Go to www.photobucket.com
2) Go to 'My Album'.
3) Click 'Browse' and select the picture from your hard drive.
4) Click 'Browse' for the other boxes if you want to upload multiple pictures at the same time.
5) Click 'Upload' and wait. It can take a few minutes depending on how busy PhotoBucket is and your internet connection. If it's taking more then 5 minutes, try again.
6) Your pictures should now be in your album.
7) Below the picture there should be a few boxes, go to the one titled 'IMG Code' and highlight the link in the box and hold 'Ctrl+C'
8)Go to your post/topic in Spudfiles and paste (Ctrl+V) the link into your post.
9) That's it, if done correctly when you submit your post your picture should automatically display in the topic.
Using The SpudFiles Uploader:
If making a 'Quick Reply' post, go to Step 1, if making a new topic, go to Step 2.
1) If you are making a 'Quick Reply', click the 'Add Reply' button so you're taken to a new window.
2) At the bottom of the post box, above the 'Submit' button, click 'Browse' and find the file on your computer.
3) Click on the picture file you want to upload, type in the 'File Comment' box, any comments you want to say about that picture.
4) Click 'Add Attachment'.
7) Wait for the page to refresh and load, your first picture should be uploaded.
8)To upload more pictures, just repeat the process.
9) Once you have uploaded your pictures and typed out your post, hit the 'Submit' button. Now your post should be posted in the topic. If uploaded correctly, the pictures should all show up in your post.
Uploading A Preview Picture For The Showcase Section:
When making a new topic in the showcase section to post your new cannon, you have the option of having a preview picture next to your post in the 'Showcase Section', this will tell you how.
1) In the 'New Topic' window, scroll down a bit and find "Enter url for thumbnail provided by the uploader", then click the link 'HERE' which will open a new window.
2) Click 'Browse' and search for the picture you want as a preview, on your computer. Click on the picture you want.
3) Click 'Upload' and wait.
4) Highlight the URL from the box that appears.
5) Copy the URL of the newly uploaded picture into the box back on the 'New Topic' page just above where it says 'Thumbnail MUST be uploaded HERE'.
5) Once you have typed out your post and uploaded the pictures of your cannon and the 'Preview Picture', click the 'Submit' button and that's it.
6) You must upload your Preview Picture that way, no exceptions. |

| A small note, the spudfiles uploader will not accept .bmp images so make sure you save as .gif or .jpg |
