All right I’ve wanted to do something like this for a while, a replica of a real rifle. I'm choosing the M16 because I think it looks pretty cool and have always liked it over other rifle's. The housing for the gun will be made from sheet PVC screwed and glued together and filled/sanded down to look very close to the M16. Specs for the gun, will be all steel so I can take it to 500psi, 0.22 cal rifled barrel, small 1/2 piston valve in a T, and semi-automatic or bolt action. I would like the chamber to be roughly 5:1 C: B and be situated in the stock and fire at 800fps+ and be very accurate i.e. hitting a matchbox from 25metres and finally have a 10-30 round spring loaded magazine I think I’m am now exaggerating and trying to achieve the impossible. I have been drawing diagrams and been coming up with ideas for the last few weeks I think I have finally got one that works but the only thing I can't think of is way to exhaust the piston valve. I will keep adding ideas drawings and pictures to this post until I am happy that I have come up with a suitable plan and than start production I’m willing to spend about $250 on this so I won't start making it until I’m happy with my plans. All I want other people to do is gimme some ideas and improve upon my own and some constructive criticism Very Happy

The M16 assualt rifle

Can you maybe post your plans, so the brains here can help you figuring things out. Also helping everyone else with the idea's they have, in combinatioen with your idea's.

We all together could create a nice gun, i think.

Use a CO2 bottle for an m2o3, and build a "simple"metal Tvalve.
Fit woodwork around it to form the stock and a breech loader .

It's not that impossible.Give yourself a year and take baby steps...

Get an M16 airsoft gun, take it apart, make a vortex inside it, and there you go.

First off I can't get airsoft guns where I live "Australia" and I can't see a vortex block getting speeds of 800fps+ Sad

I already planned on using the Co2 tank where the M203 is placed so thats one thing that will stay, but my next problem is the Tvalve.
Confused

I need someway to exhaust the piston valve with just the leverage of a normal hinging trigger. I have a way that I could easily set out the valve, chamber and barrel so it all fit perfectly except the back of the piston is to far out of the way to get to so i can exhaust it. I'll will draw and post a picture later.

This will be tha basic layout for the gun.

Well I did want to have the gun at pressures of 400-500 psi but I didn't think blowguns could handle that much presure. If there is some way I can use electronics or electromagnets to exhaust the piston i'm open all ears for that.

Here are a few ideas i quickly drew up they all have there advantages and disadvantages, I have more ideas but they are just slight variants from these.

Idea 1

Idea 2

If you plan on making this i would buy a crappy airsoft gun and make it into a vortex bbmg.

You could connect the coaxial forearm to the back like in the picture and connect a spring return ballvalve ( because of the high pressure) to the trigger.
Place the whole thing in a nice wooden mock-up frame and you have your M16.
Bolt action that is

Hmm, that's all right I guess but I don't think many people are grasping how much I want to replicate the M16, I don't want to buy a M16 shell “I can’t anyway” and just put my stuff inside I want to custom make every single part. I had nothing to do so I started the handle today its solid PVC sheet screwed together and crudely cut out so far I think it will look very good when sanded and filed.

I have come up with A very good design where just about everything is in the stock although the exhaust would have to be electronic and not too large I’ll see if I can draw it in paint the reason for having everything in the stock is so that I can fit in the semi-auto in the centre the bolt is attached to a piston and a powerful spring which is pretty basic and the magazine goes up threw the handle like a handgun, now that would be pretty nice.

You could use like a blowgun and a 1/8 QEV.
