I have a few questions about pressure ratings that might be simple to answer.

What are plastic Sprinkler valves rated to?

Does the BlowGun on a moded sprinkler valve have to be rated to 200 PSI? (if i would want to pressure it that high)
What i mean is. Is the pressure in the Chamber as much as on the blow gun?

Yes the pressure is the same being that the diaphram needs the same on both sides to equalize and stay shut. The air gun rating isn't as important if you have a decent one. I can't imagine them being rated to high but they should hold more than enough for a decent cannon. I've been going with ball valves the next size up from the barrel to allow more flow even if it doesn't open all the way but maybe you could try a piston, those will be my next choice once I get a job to support this new habit.

In all probability the 90psi blowgun would work fine, but it isn't safe. If you choose to use it, put the blowgun on the end of the hose to your compressor and pressurize it to 150 psi with the blowgun far away from you, and leave it pressurized for a few hours. If it doesn't blow up... it's *probably* ok, but again, still not that safe. Couldn't you use a small ball valve instead?

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

ok, i saw a video on you tube with 2 guys pumping one up to 200Psi with a solenoid ( i think, he says it's electronically controled.)
But theirs is brass by the looks of it, how mcuh more would you have to pay for a brass one?

Metal solenoids cost a hell of a lot more. Add $200+ to your bill if you're having a brass one instead of a plastic one.
