look up sgort87' s winning gun he used a valve like the one you wasted your time "drawing"
Hey ,your not the only person who does it lots 'o peeps "draw" stuff that has been built or can be bought off the shelf.
How many PSI can your "drawing" hold?
I get it ,you want to build the biggest, fastest gun that shoots 2000 yds and only can spend the money found under the couch cushions! lol
Spend your lunch money and buy the part.
AND look up what you want dont just start a new post
Your idea is good I'm just in a bad mood

Sgort has a Push button fill setup using a 3 way solenoid.

yeah... that was a little uncalled for.

it looks like that would work quite well. in fact, VERY well. i like the way you think. the only problem i see is the fact that your meter volume would have to be increased, because in order to be able to resist the 100PSI+ that propane gives off to "push" (in your case more like whack with a hammer) the valve open.

still, try it. just might have to hit it pretty hard to make it work.

As others have said, the main issue with this setup is that the pressure will make this hard to move.

However, I aided in the design and manufacture of one of these devices a while back. My solution to the problem was to add another disk to the piston, so that the propane would not get behind it and present an unbalanced force.

This is true about it being a valve not a solenoid.
But it is a three way valve and requires only a quick tap to charge the chamber. My gun is a close copy of Sgort's, with a few changes (Mr. Heater reg, sweated copper meter pipe instead of brass, rifled barrel and a flash supressor on the barrel). That little valve works wonderfully and the whole fuel meter weighs a tiny fraction of what your typical meter assembly weighs.
