I've been wanting to build some kind of vehicle for myself for a while. I don't have any welding skills or tools so I looked for alternative materials, apparently PVC works.

Will wood work in a Go-Kart?

That go-cart looks like a toy. They have made wooden planes, boats, cars and other means of transportation, I don't see why you can't make one out of wood.

Yea, wood would have a lot less give. You could make a good one out of pvc, but the cost would be unforgiveing, not to mention all the notching and glueing you would have to do to keep from bounceing off the ground/road or were ever your rideing it. The one in the pic is probly good for like 40lbs tops, (thats my guess).

So I could build a Go-Kart out of wood? That's within my skill and tool abilities.

Has anyone ever though about powered street luge boards?

btw if your gonna use pvc, you can insert steel into it to give it more rigity

and learn how to weld everyone, a stick welder will cost under $100 and it's fun!
