i was wondering: when you're carrying around a cloud or vortex that is loaded with bbs, wouldn't the bbs just fall out of the barrel if it was pointing downwards? i mean, there's nothing stopping them is there? or is it actually too hard for this to happen? thanks for some enlightenment Very Happy

Was this worth a topic? oc course the bbs will fall out a big HOLE IN THE CHAMBER. but you can put a small hopup or oring on the barrel to prevent this.
EDIT: the nest time you have a question like this, dont clutter the forums. feel free to pm me or check the wiki.

Well you are very correct on the title
but they ussually dont come pouring out, one just falls out every second or two while its pointed down.

Yeah, I totally agree with you guys about the topic, I was just checking I wasn't totally missing the ball somewhere.

Seems kind of annoying though, bbs falling out when you tilt it down. Anyone know a way to stop/reduce it, apart from the hopup or o-ring mentioned above?

a good way would be to put a ball valve infront of the barrel(that the BB's fit through)and just open it when you are about to fire.

On my current BBMG, I have a barrel that doesn't allow the BBs to fall out. You'll see it when I post it.

To begin with, however, I was contemplating the same and figured I would cut two slits near the receiver end of the barrel and put an o-ring over the slits. The o-ring will protrude into the barrel just slightly, causing the BBs to hold back until the pressure buildup pushes them out.

the old baloon breech..
cut the neck of a baloon and put the baloon part in the breech and take the thick end of the baloon on the out side of the breech it is hard to explain with no drawing..

that is a really good idea
nice and simple and yet im guessing effective.
Ill try it on one of my lung powered(yes I dont have a compressor)BBMG's today and see if it works.

Or even better, pressurise the BB chamber and use the Ball valve as a trigger Wink

Thanks spudfarm, I really like your idea - seems easy and effective.
Though the ball valve suggestion's perfectly valid i think i'm leaning towards the balloon method for simplicity. I should be able to start building my bbmg this weekend, hopefully i'll be posting it pretty soon too.

Another easy way to keep the BBs from falling out is to stick a small magnet on the barrel near the chamber. It doesn't take much force to hold a BB in the barrel against the force of gravity. To fire you can remove the magnet or leave it in place since it won't have much of an affect on the guns performance.

Thanks for idea jimmy, but I'm using plastic bbs at the moment. If I ever use metal ones though that'll come in handy. Thanks
