hi this will b my first time using a potato gun so i hav a few questions i need answered from those with experience

1. about how much hairspray would i use to launch a simple potato if the chamber is 15 1/2 " long 11 1/2 " around and is about 4 1/4 " wide.
And the shaft is 35" long about 8" around and about 2 1/2 " wide?

2. does the potato need to be at the bottom, top or middle of the shaft

3. also there r 2 little holes near the bottom of the shaft should those b covered up?

4. and if you hav any safety tips could u tell em (cannon is held up to shoulders)

Just tell me the size of the chamber pipe and its length then give the size of pipe for the barrel and then how long it is.
2) At the bottom near the chamber (right after the reducer)
3) There shouldnt be any holes in your chamber even if you fill them you will run the risk of having what ever you sealed it with to blow out. I would suggest to replace the chamber.
4) If your gun has holes in it defintly dont hold it by your head Exclamation

How about you read around this site and I assure that you will find more then enough info about saftey.

I would highly suggest that you read a little more before you shoot one because you dont even now how to shot one. Why I say that is for your saftey and so you dont blow yourself and make spudguns get banned or something.

my brother gave it to me as a gift he bought it off a friend, but he didnt teach me how to use it and he went off to colledge

k the chamber is 15 inches long and 11 inches around as in circumfrance

the barrel is 35 inches long and 8 inches around

these two tiny holes are close to the bottom of the barrel about 3 inches off from the chamber

and there already banned where i am

I might be able to tell what the hole were if I could see a pic of the cannon. To measure a pipe you measure the diameter not the circumfrence. But since im so smart I decided to figure out what the diameter is by simply dividing the circumfrence by 3.14.
11/3.14=3.503185
8/3.14=2.547771
So by that Im guessing that you have a 3" chamber and a 2" barrel. Instead of hairspray use about 2 seconds of axe deoderant. Something came to my mind do the holes in the barrel look like there threaded? If so they might of removed the screws for holding a potato.

ah it just so happens thats wat it was i just talked to my bro on the phone

well thanks for the help im gonna b shootin it off later today hopefully ill post bak and tell whether it worked or not

hahahahaha im defeneley doin that again it was all good my dumb friend almost burned his eye cuz he "wanted to see if itd spark" while the fumes were in it

aftter a few trys we got it to shoot and we shot potatoes onions coke cans rocks leaves etc. this was all waaay out in the boonies so it was totally safe
