Well I posted more on spudtech, but obviously it is no longer. I have only made 6 posts here since august of 05. I have shot my cannons here and there the past year or so, but while I was driving today I had an idea pop into my head and now I realized that I had a few things I've always wanted to try way back when and never did. Also I remembered I have all the parts for a small pneumatic in my room that I never finished.
Anyways, enough with that. The point is I'll be around here more often now.
I'm off to see what has been created since I last visited, and get more details on the whole spudtech thing. |

| Yeah, I pump mine up inside, load it, then run out into 10 degree weather fire it then bring it back in. I'm not too concerned because I'm using a bike pump, but better safe than sorry. |

100psi is 100psi no matter how you achive it. |

I just use metal launchers
But when it is warmer(40* and above) I will use my pvc ones a little. |

The ultimate solution - I could leave most of my launchers outside overnight at -10o C, and they'd actually be safer (solder is stronger at slightly lower temperatures).
They won't have quite as much power - launchers lose power in lower temperatures - and air is more dense, creating greater drag - but I love copper for it's wonderful characteristics. |

I actually have yet to build a copper launcher maybey Ill start one this weekend.
It is going to be a little heavy on my wallet because I dont have any of the tools required for soldering and I get 8-13 dollars a week so it may take a while to save up.
And metal launchers are just more fun to use you dont have to worry about it exploding even at extreme pressures like 400-500psi.
you dont have to worry about the tempeture affecting it like you do with pvc.
I say metal is better than pvc if you have a high pressure sorce if you dont you might as well build it out of pvc because there isnt as much reason to go metal if you are just going to use it at 100psi. |

Well, there is this little thing called "safety."
If you have the resources to build metal and you don't? You're a fool.
Now, granted, not everybody has the money/equipment to build out of metal and those people must make compromises. But to imply that there's not much reason to go metal? The mind boggles. |

100 psi from a bike pump is hot ( well mildly warm anyway)
So when temperarture is concerned, it's not the same |
