I havent made one yet, no. The lathe method doesnt really seem to work for me as the glue wont keep the pipes togethor as the clearance between the pipes is too little. Yeah I use orings from the praxis. Just buy a package with different kind of orings and c which ones fit. Then once u know the size then buy more of that type. The orings I use for the poppet valves are always 1-2 bigger in diameter compared to the inside of the pipe. So that might be your problem.

Then you have to use a rod or something massive to machine.

If you supply me with a proper dimensioned blueprint, i'd be happy to machine the piston thingy for you on my lathe... for only the postal costs. Smile

Just looking at the original post..

That second sealing face to the right has a rather large area..If you're going to be using high pressure it could be quite difficult to open it using just the inertia from the bolt moving back.
Unless of course the picture wasn't to scale.

I am planning to use the same materials as before. So yeah the poppet and the piston will have about the same surface area. I just bought a paintball marker so I do have high-pressure tanks but for the moment I am thinking about max 8 bars or so. But yeah u are right. Atm I am taking my spyder(stacked tube) paintball marker apart and measuring all the dimensions/weights etc. So I can get a clear picture of what is important. I have posted some calculations before> on spring tension etc but I cant find it now, but I will do something similar to the pb marker data. At low pressure it is also possible to find a big operation range in terms of pressure drop, so I gotta c.
