The Slide valves are McMaster part number 4622K57. you might also want to get a street elbow so that the valve is actuated linearly.... just a thought

Yea you'd have to be pretty dang careful with the CO2. Very nice gun though. You ever had it chrono'd?

Nope never had it tested.

I just thought of a problem with the sprinkler valve and a slide valve. I don't think the sprinkler valve gets air above the plunger fast enough for it to seal (with a slide valve). It works right now because the ball valve creates a slow leak. We're traveling right now so I'm not near it but i'll try opening the ball valve fast and see what happens.

when using a slide valve to create a semi auto air is entering into the from the top of the diaphram, the diaphram/plunger will surely seal even before the air enters the chamber

It didn't work...
When you open the ball valve fast, air comes into the chamber faster than it leaks throught the diaphram which creates the equilibrium.

The point is a sprinkler valve can't stop a large amount of air thats coming fast.

Anyway, I bought the slide valve on ebay for $10 which is awesome. It won't work on this gone but it will be sweet on some other gun.

If I wanted, I could probably just buy another slide valve and somehow attach a trigger looking thing on it. so you can caulk it with one slide valve and shoot with the other.

I got a new design for the hopper that I think will work and make it more powerful at the same time.

Inside the T joint below the hopper I was planning on putting a piece of pvc thats plugged but has a fairly big hole in the plug. This part acts as a piston. The piston is connected to a light spring. So when you shoot the piston flies forward blocking off the hopper and then returns because of the spring. Do you think this design will work?

No it will work I don't think you get it, have you seen other semi that use sleeve valves. you see the spot that you have the ball valve will be blocked, and air will be flowing to the actuator port, the blowgun is switched for the slevee valve, and the air source ais attached to the other side
tank----slevee valve---sprinkler valve (the blowgun port)

I think i'm confused but maybe not.

So when you caulk it with the sleeve valve, does the air leak through the sprinkler valve into the temp chamber. If that's the case, how do you fire it? Another port in the sprinkler valve that's connected to a blow gun?

hey dude, u got my first post
this gun is cool, what you could do for the hopper is maybe mount a length of 3 in pvc vertically.
oh and, i feel real stupid, cuz it took me like a week to figure out how this gun worked drunken

The sleeve valve is the same as connecting and disconnecting a quick connect when you slide back you expose the slots that start releasing air from the sprinkler valve side, while conserving air from the tank.

Remember regulators dont screw up if they are made for paintball... They will shut off before the screw up... There are alot of paintball guns that willnot hold anywhere close to 800 psi without failing... i wouldnt really worry about it, just be safe... use a remote. only tip the tank so that it is facing downward if you are using an antisciphon tank. If you dont you will feel liquid co2 into the gun which is the main reason for hte cold.

I'm thinking about using compressed air instead of co2. Like compressed air in the same kind of bottle as co2, not an air compressor. Do you think that will work?

-----------------------------
iknowmy3tables: sorry i feel kinda stupid. I know what a sleeve valve does but I don't know how to use it. I was planning on replacing the ball valve with the sleeve valve so when I need to shoot I just open and close it then shoot. The problem with that is a sprinkler valve can't hold air when it comes fast.

I think this is what your saying. drill and tap a new hole in the top of the sprinkler valve and the air comes in from the top of the sprinkler valve to fill up the temp chamber. Then I fire with the blow gun. Is that right? If it is, is the sprinkler valve meant to be used this way cause it will have a heck of a lot of pressure on top which normally doesn't happen.

Edit: screw everything I said. Especially the part "I know what a sleeve valve does." I just got the sleeve valve in the mail and it all makes sense. Duhhrrrr
