Does this seem like a good deal to everyone? Getting ready to order for use in a small calibre airsoft any thoughts?

http://cgi.ebay.com/Numatech-24vdc-3-way-solenoid-valve-SMC-Quick-Exha ust-/320561644374?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4aa2f683 56

I think I could always try to replace the solenoid with 12v one or lower or take it off and acuate it manually and its fifteen us dollars free shipping thought it looked like a good deal

Ineresting sales pitch:

The assembly as pictured can be used to launch a small projectile or blast a short puff of air.

Looks good, but what pressure can it take and what power are you expecting?

I think it can take at least 150psi and was hoping for atleast 400-500 fps
want to feed from regulated hpa source ideally then use a 555 timer to run the solenoid

Also was thinking air ram for the bolt setup

Semi/full auto? Is it worth adding an electronic system?

I am not a big fan of electronics (as I am not very good at it) but it gives so many cool options that it is definitely worth to use such a system... If he is good at it (or he knows someone who can build one for him) he can easily implement some cool features such as selective fire (semi/2 3 or even 5 rds burst/fullauto), adjustable ROF and MOAR Very Happy

@JSR
it's not compact enough for you ?? sure, it won't fit in a pen but it's pretty small don't you think ? Very Happy

It isn't about compactness, more having to worry about batteries as well as gas supply.

normally it is a bit of a problem but if you think of it you can use one of those airsoft/RC batteries

I am planing to buy a few to build something similar (if the seller are willing to ship internationally), and i did find the data-sheet for the quick exhaust valve.

I do have the same model of QEV (though not produced by SMC) so I was sure it can handle at least 400 psi. It's the solenoid valve that I am worried about...
