This test shows how many shots can be taken on a 0.5liter coke bottle at 7.5 using my thumbreloading bbgun. It was amazing; I took 95 shots! The velocity ranged from 300km/h to 150km/h. Check the pics below>

very nice, but why are the results in km/h?

impressive.... when I said that hammer valves are the future of spudgunning I wasn't expecting that it is so true

Because all members of the animal kingdom (except some ignorant humans, and those damn Armadillidium vulgare) use the metric system. Ants, Brits, and The Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonians included.

lol. It is pretty funny, but I have some backup:) "Many Americans resist using the metric system because they think that it is more difficult. However, it is actually easier! For example, when measuring length, all you need to know is a few prefixes and that the meter is the basic unit of measurement. Everything else is based on multiples of ten. Let's take a look at how easy the metric system is!" http://ksnn.larc.nasa.gov/webtext.cfm?unit=meter
The metric system is the future: "NASA astronauts on the Moon/Mars will use the metric system"
Alright no offence to the Americans, I went to a english spoken school and follow Aerospace Engineering in English; english is the future. Not 'your' measurement system.

haha yeah it impressed me as well! I did shoot before but never did a speed test with so many shots. Normally I repump after 50 shots or so:) But thats not really needed i guess

I thought about converting it to ft/s or miles/h. But yeah I thought u guys would be smart enough to do the conversion: 1km/h=0.91ft/s so you could roughly say 1-1 >> 300m/h=273ft/s which is about 300ft/sSmile

Sorry for the double post:)

Yeah, but muzzle velocity in metric is done in meters per second (m/s), not kilometers per hour. Wink

Yeah k I did calculate the graph in meters per second as well. I converted it to km/h so you can compare it to a speeding car for example. Oh yeah btw these speeds are not the muzzle velocities rather the average over a distance of 2.4 meters:)>> I used my mic-chrono method. I dont wanna go on about this metric unit system. I think I brought across that the NASA is ganna use it for the coming space missions, I think that says enough:) I am not sure in which unit muzzle velocity is expressed, but I know its more usefull as it is easier to find the muzzle energy then, good point:) For all the ppl out there(1m/s=3.6km/h)

Yeah I had some really nice results here! Ehm yeah the range. I shot at this target 10meters away and I had a grouping of about 0.25meters around the focalpoint''. The problem is that the bb balls start spinning of after 30 meters. So yeah you could say the useable range is 30 meters as after that the balls go all over the place. Atm I am thinkin of a different barrel system for better accuracy. I noticed that when the velocity is brought down a bit and a hopup system is used, the balls have a bigger range. As though I havent made a succesfull hopup system yet:)
Good luck with building one, dont hesitate to ask me questions etc:)
