| Is Krylon Fusion the only kind of spraypaint I should use or will other ones work fine? It's gonna be black, and pneumatic.

| Ive tryed the economy brand in home depot, it was fine the first day inside my house but the next day i went shooting (it was very hot) and the paint started to rub off and get on my hands, it ruined my cannon. I also want to know if anyone has had any good results with non fusion spray paint.

| personally i have never tried krylon but that is pretty much the only paint i have ever heard mentioned when it comes to painting guns. i would spend the extra money and buy it because its pretty much guaranteed to give you a nice looking paint job judging by the looks of all the guns that are painted with it.

| You can get it at any home improvement store (Home Depot, Lowe's, Ace, True Value) or even Wal-Mart carries it.

| I would not spray paint any brass threaded connections because it will clog the threads.

I used rustoleum Paint for plastics on my Big Apple Cannon. It works great all I did was wash the cannon with car soap, mask off parts I didn't want paint on (threads). Then I whiped the cannon down with paint thinner. Then I sprayed the enire cannon in the lightest color I wanted (in my case red). Then I waited 5 hours and masked off the areas i wanted to stay red, and sprayed the cannon black. then I waited another 5 hours and removed all of the tape and masking paper. Then I waited 7 days for the paint to cure to a chip resistant finish.
Do it outside and you dont need the t-shirt over you mouth. The fumes arent strong at all.

Benstern, to bad you dont utilize the threads on a schrader. Although Id leave all brass and metal components un-painted. Just a matter of preference, although if you so choose im sure the paint will stick to metal.
beebs111, sounds like you need to learn how to spray paint. Any paint will run and become sticky if you repeativly paint a area, or come to close with the nozzle.
If you all dont matter, ill go over how I spraypaint with Krylon Fusion, and any paint at that. First spray from ~12" away. Sweep over your entire workpeice tell it looks "cloudish". AKA theres barely any paint on it. Let it dry for ~1-2 minutes. Repeat this process of applying very little paint from a distance giving a little buffer between paint runs. Your work will ever darken in color. Sure it takes long, but gives your peice looks like it was even sprayed without overlapping runs of the sprayer. Below I included one of my most recent paint jobs...

chubster, is the gun you plan on painting "black" constructed? Half-assembled? Concept? If you havent finished it yet, I would suggest painting barrel and chamber seperate. Well thats if you have a threaded connection. Basically I think completed over-unders would be the hardest to paint since the close proximity of the chamber-barrel makes it hard to paint around. Possibly you could tell me roughly what this guns will/ or does look like, and how far its assembled and I could give you some tips on how to paint and layout.
