1) Try Google Images. Type in sprinkler valve, and you should get a good picture.

2) Although I don't browse there very often these days, www.uksgc.co.uk should assist you in UK specific spudding needs.

Try to clean up your posting a little if you go there (For that matter, clean it up while you're here)

I would personally recommend a QEV (Quick exhaust valve) if you're within the UK, because they have higher flow, and open quicker - and are of a similar cost. Thus are better.
