Its very nice! I love it.
Surely encourages me too. Pity it isnt legal over here (while pneumatic is).
Ofcourse that wont hold me back of building one.
But I've got some other projects to finish first. I havent machined some nice full-auto pneumatic yet, and thats an higher priority. Not even talking about studying and finishing that darn ball-mill.
I wish I could buy a bucket of time. Sadly, that is not how our universe works.
But where is that vid you promised? |

That's good, because as far as I was aware, fewmet was legal in all the 195 countries in the world (it'd be a very inconvenient country where it was illegal) - however, having it in public is generally frowned upon.
Hmm, it's fun taking the literal meanings of swearwords. |

Well common sense. You have to have something to hold in the pre-ignition pressures. Actually I just had an idea...a modified check valve that is sealed when anything below xxx psi is applied. When the pressure is over that it opens aka ignition. Actually that sounds like a pop off valve. If you could machine one your self that had decent enough flow I don't see why it would work.
What's your idea? |

Fired 6 shots at 6x today, got yelled at from my parents this time.
Made a few videos, without a barrel (as I have nothing to shoot at safely yet), just so I can have a look over them and see what the quality is like. Not sure if i'll be able to upload them by tonight though. |

Looking good (the hybrid I mean, you're looking vaguely like the Incubus vocalist ) - but given the noise sensitivity issue, why not build a full length suppressor? Even just a couple of holes at the end of the barrel and a large diameter sleeve should make a significant difference, especially if packed with something to absorb the heat like wire mesh or steel wool. |

Because the sound is just so damn cool
I probably should, but I figure as soon as I get a barrel, the 4' of copper barrel should quieten the sound enough for my neighbours. |

(any chance of one)?
Also I was wondering how you got the fuel meter volume figured out???
Thanks MrC. :  |

No barrel yet, finding it hard to get some 1/2" or 3/4" copper in 3' or 4' lengths. It's only sold commercially in 6m lengths.
No video yet because I took them with my handycam, which needs its software to rip the footage of it, and I don't have my computer currently, and can't install it on the computer i'm using for now.
I got the fuel meter volume figured thanks to Spudblaster15's Hybrid Fueling 101.
Chamber Volume/.954 (.958 for propane)
minus the chamber volume
times by 14.7 (to put it in PSI)
Divided by meter volume
29/.954 = 30.39
30.39-29 = 1.39
1/39 x 14.7 = 20.55
20.55/2.2 = 9.34PSI
1x = 9.34
2x = 18.68
etc
Then you fill the chamber to 14.7PSI for a 2x mix, 29PSI for a 3x mix etc.
Edit: Just realised you said volume, not pressure. Little bit hangover, I got my volume figured out by filling it with water. |
