THE PUNISHER
Provided By FoxxLord - http://www.geocities.com/cain333_2000/
Here's my latest cannon I built over the weekend, The Punisher. It's a coax design with the most simple diaphragm design I could find. The gun is about 17" without the sprinkler exhaust valve. I haven't put any goodies on it yet because I haven't decided weather to mod the sprinkler valve with a blowgun or just go with a small electric push button trigger. Here's some photos:
| Description: |
This poorly taken photo was supposed to be a shameless plug for the Rubbermaid company! I cut the diaphragm from a Tupperware lid. I didn't need to drill the hole at the top but I wanted to make sure air would pass through and it does. Yesterday I cut a 1/8" neoprene rubber disc and used it in place of the Rubbermaid disc. The noise level was reduced a little and the neoprene has more flex so I get more power per shot. |

| Here's a picture just to let you get a good idea of the size of the weapon. I wanted it small and hand held so this is what I came up with. I use those foam practice golf balls as primary ammo. |

| Another shot of the assembled gun. I used a 3" Wye fitting and just built around it until I got what I was looking for. About 5 stomps on my foot pump gets it up to 20psi, gotta love that about small chambers. |

| The Punisher broken down. Did I mention it's simple? Just a clean out plug and diaphragm! The clean out plug has a 3/4" steel nipple (hehe) threaded into it along with a regular Schrader valve. That's not the configuration I hoped for, but space is at a premium at the back of the gun, and it still works. |

i tried to maek this.. but the cleanout plug WILL NOT stop leaking air. I can pump it and fire it... but if you dont fire it withing a good minute... all the PSI will be gone.

Propane tank pressure is ~90-100 psi at room temp.
Of course, this being a steel gun, it wouldn't be too hard to heat the gun so the vapor pressure of propane was >10 atm. (less than an aditional 50*C, I would expect, although I'm not looking it up at this time of day)
...and all 3 of these posts really should be moved somewhere.

| Propane turns to a liquid long before 150 psi. So adding any extra pressure to make it 150 is not at all a lot of propane. MAYBE one shot but that's it.
