Also a fair comment, But that's just no fun, that'd be a pretty poor thing to brag about...
You: Yeah I just put a nail through a coin
Friend: Wow! No way, how'd you do that?
You: With a hammer you dip sh*t, how else |

Well I've just stuck a 1mm x 40mm pin/nail thing into a 2cm long 15mm polymorph slug.
Just going outside to shoot it at a penny inside a tunnel of thick doormat so my eyeballs don't have the chance of doing an impression of an olive on a stick if it riccochets |

I think I'll join the crowd and say BS.
Almost deafened myself shooting at point blank range like that
Metal was utterly flattened against the slug on contact, extremely hot afterwards.
If you look closely you can see the little gouge in the penny...
That was at 240psi. |

| hmmm... doesn't look like the pin was hard enough for penetrating such a hard target, I'll try something similar when I get home from work. |

I might try some kind of thin hardened nails next time but next time will be Monday as I'm off for a trip til Sunday evening
Also dam well going to wear my chainsaw helmet for the ear protection because that ringing noise is annoying and probably not good.
Incidentally, another reason for saying it's crap is that theres no deformation of the coin. It should have a cone shaped dent focused on the penetration point. |

ya, I thought it was going to richet and the kid was going to be screweed, but, it has to be BS. He did a nice job glueing the needle to the quarter |

| i've seen ramset pins deflect off from quarters and i've seen hardened tico nails(10d X 11/2 in.) penetrate 3/8 in. steel. the slightest deflection and nail bends. this pin must be made of some super-uber material the NSA/Google are working on. |

The NSA/Google. Hahaha. I have to say this would be quit eimpressive if I believed it. Bt not only does the pin have to ht perfectly straight, difficult enough considering the embossed designs on coins, but it also couldn't have any structural imperfections. The slightest bend in the pin would cause it to deform. |

| however that was a real blow gun with a real dart so it must be able to go much straighter than hotwired's needle |

| I've actually shot nails through pennies before with my qev airsoft gun. I'm not sure what the nails looked like after they went through the penny because they disappeared after going through the penny (probably stuck in the tree). |

I saw this video a while ago. The only thing I thought was odd was that the dart didn't bend, but it's not something I would call BS on. I may try this with a medium power launcher this weekend.
Plus, what an odd thing that would be to fake...It kinda depresses me that everybody screams "FAKE" at half the stuff on the internet nowadays. I guess the internet has just about become the medium that cried wolf. |

I can ressurect my QEV dart gun and give it a shot (no pun intended).
Look like a damn good gluing job to me. I don't see this happening. |
