Brian, I will agree with the masses on this one. This is very nice and I'm looking forward to the finished product / more pictures.

M22 is a course metric thread. It is considered a standard type thread, sort of like a "1/4" bolt or something.

Indeed, screw aesthetics on this one, I want to see this sort of BB power combined with the rate of fire of a a normal cloud Very Happy

I got 650 feet per second for steel BBs with circa 350 psi of air in this design - I'm guessing you'll get something in the 800-900 feet per second range with this setup which should give you fearsome penetration Shocked

Any chance of using HPA instead of CO2?

edit: and with regards to aesthetics, why not buy a cheap airsoft springer like Dornep had done and try and stuff your mechanism into the outer shell?

Something like this MP5 can be bought for a pittance, it has a relatively large and roomy frame and the extra barrel length can be hidden in a silencer (that presumably you're going to need anyway Very Happy)

Looks great! But how much extra performance are you expecting to get from the increase in pressure? Not trying to be a stick in the mud or anything, but we won't know until you test it. Therefore, test! And show us results.

I also have to suggest a few things for a reservoir. If you have the tooling, I think something like a 2" pipe nipple capped on each end would work perfectly. It could then be tapped for fittings using a drill bit and a H.S.S. tap.

Next thing would probably have to be a vortex design. Rolling Eyes It might not increase performance by a huge factor but "the masses" won't be silenced until you or somebody else tries it.

All in all, good start. Just finish it now so I can sleep peacefully sometime soon, without wondering whether I should go dump forty bucks for the CO2 input and pipe fittings to build my own.

It's the pressure that provides the motive power to the BBs, so technically twice the pressure should give twice the power, and a 150% of the velocity. Other than my burst fire project, I haven't seen strafers use pressures over 300 psi, so the power should at least double over what we've seen before.

The unknown factor is the flow from the pressure handle but I'm assuming it's at least as good as a blowgun so the benefits of the increased pressure should be clear.

The bend in the barrel isn't giving any problems then?

At the moment, I don;t even have .177 bb's..

A couple of years ago ( before my first shotgun I think) I made a bbmg with a wooden vortex block, with onboard air reservoir.Since I don't won a compressor, that was the only way to see if I liked the idea of a bbmg.
Fortunately, I do have a trackpump wich puts out over 300 psi.The reservoir was longer than the barrel( about a foot) and rand back and forth 3 times, to create enough volume. It looked hideous, but it was built for testing purposes only.
Even though the pressure drop was huge, it managed to tear up a steel can, almost cutting it in half from left to right, before the air ran out.Separate impacts looked exactly like the ones in the video.
The barrel diameter was a full millimeter too wide...just to give you an idea of the power.

This time the barrel is "only" 0.2 mm too wide.Pressure is more than doubled...barrel lenght about the same or longer..flow of the pressure washer handle is at least double that of a blowgun..( just the pipe going from the bottle to the handle restricts flow severely atm)

I'm pretty sure it will live up to it's name.
Patience people!! I can only get to the store on saturday's and the next two weeks I have to work the weekends myself...so...

Oh and I have an M16 airsoft rifle, but I don't want to use a shell to make it look better.I'll use epoxy and my imagination..

That always worked for me Smile though not in the aesthetic department.

I can't even work out how the CO2 gets to the BBs and then the lot get back out the barrel, have I missed something?

Wow! Outstanding Brian!

Nu-skool BBMGs have just been born! I for one cannot wait for videos and/or damage pictures as it seems like this baby will do some serious destruction!

Keep up the work big guy!
