I am looking into creating a mini vortex football launcher for a airsoft buddy of mine. I want to launch a Mini vortext football(you know the tiny ones). How do I connent either co2 tank to it so it does not have to be pumped every time he wants to launch (I am the magyver of my airsoft team lol) It is going to be insorperated as a Boba fett costume. What kind of parts do I need? Thank you.

| steel pipe for the chamber, w a ball valve, and a few pvc parts. if you choose to do somthing like i did, i would use a 4" loading chamber instead of the 3", my hand can barly fit. also you just need a remote line. thats it. http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4071& i shoot those nerf mini vortex things, and they fly real nice. |

It is going to be for a wrist rocket, I want to keep size down. Would co2 tank with a sprinkler valve connected straight to the barrel work? So it would be small and it would fire the rocket with minimal effort (IE pushing a button)?

oic! gotcha now, i had know idea why you were tellin me u were gonna dress like boba fett.... i guess you would have to get some regulator, because i don't know about any valve other than a ball valve that can stand unregulated co2. and from what i know regulators are expensive too. not sure tho. and you need a chamber for co2 becaus it come out in a small stream. i would get a bigger steel chamber, as big as you can w/o ruining it's compactness. you could use pvc, but i wouldnt like a pvc chamber charged on my arm. so have an 8" long piece of 2" pvc, a sprinkler valve, a 2" steel chamber maybe about 3" long. connected to a hose running to a regualted co2 bottle on your back mybe?
im am not sure however that sprinkler valves shut when you release the trigger, it might not close until all pressure stops. but maybe the weak stream from the co2 bottle will not be enough to keep it open. |
