I was only going on what the original description said( for the capacity ). Really cool idea though, I like it. Im sure your plan will function better than a real M249, the SAW (minimi in France) is a real turd of a gun. Gimme a 60 anyday, the hog is a much more dependable gun. but back on topic:
This little guy must be a hoot to fire. |

| oooh yeah, m60 baby, all 25 lbs of it, id rather carry a saw, its only 22 lbs... with 200 rounds on it, but id rather shoot an m60 they dont jam so much, and if they do its an easy fix |

actually i checked it out its about 20 something pounds unloaded, if i had to choose between the two i think id probably take an m60 just because ive fired it more than a saw (i only shot a saw once at a machine gun expo in northern maine, i was impressed), and well... its tried and true, hardcore machine gun.

Get a CO2 setup and build an M60 lookalike bb machinegun! The long barrel would be nice...high velocity...blah blah..
I built a strafer once just to try out the principle.I don't have a compressor so on board reservoir was the way for me.I use metal and I only had some 22 mm pipe.Not enough volume, so I made the stock out of several pipes and bends.Ended up looking a little like an M60 but with the barrel mounted too high.Still got out only 50 shots a time...scrapped it and built me a shotgun .100 bb's in a single shot...much simpler

H2O2? That's a total waste of concentrated hydrogen peroxide, and doesn't yeild all that much gas/mass. I'v come to the conclusion that chemical scources for gasses are generaly impractical for uses like this...
Now, a steam powered one might be interesting, other than the fact that it'd get really F'ing hot (and require a custom propane burner) |

| 3ml of H2O2 60% gives 1l of oxigen with out counthing the steam.A normal gun uses about 2-3 L for second. 100ml-more then 30s of shooting.And the size of the gun will be redused. |

| Put a lead pelet in the peroxide and watch the reaction (try not to breathe the fumes please). I guarantee you get the pressure you desire. I have made small explosives this way. |
