this is an easy way to make wax slugs without having to melt the wax and pour it into a mold...(this is faster)

first you will need: tongs, wax, toaster oven, ice water, and a small piece of pipe the same size as your barrel.

then hold the wax with the tongs in the hot toaster oven until its starts to melt. then when the wax is half melted. the wax becomes plyable like laydough.

then take your piec of pipe and mash it into the pipe with your fingers until
you have the desired shape u want. then drop it into the icewater. let it cool for a minute or 2 and then you should be able to push the wax out of the pipe easily. and your done

Looks like a good method. Thanks for letting us all know. How easy is it to shape the wax into (possibly) a dart/cone shape? (because that would be very cool)
I usually just push the wax (hard) through a short tube of my barrel's size and then lube it up. This works well and is easy.
Anyway, thanks for the enlightenment.

How well does wax fly? It seems a bit too light to get any good distance... But using it as aircones or sabots sounds like a good idea.

Weight of 1" (length) of 1" (diameter) wax: 6 grams

So its almost double that of a piantball (if using 1" of wax) and more aerodynamic if shaped.

I thought paintballs were 6 grams. BTW ow much would a 1" steel ball be compared to this?

I weighed 10 paintballs on my scale, which was 40 grams, then measured 20 paintballs, which was 81 grams, so concluded they weigh 4 grams, but you may get different size paintballs. (i guess thats not really double the weight, but I was talking approxitate weights. I think a good size wax slug would be 1.75" total size, with .5" front part going into cone. This would weigh +- 11 grams )

I often go to the beach in the morning because everyone has candles on the beach at night. I sometimes get up to 35 candles. Only thing is the outside of the candle is sometimes sandy, but it doesnt really matter.

If you want to, you can put a piece of lead or metal in the middle to add weight.

You can still buy wax for canning purposes. Any Grocery store has it. It's cheap too.
