I know it had low traffic, but I would like to see the classifieds section brought up again. There were occasional transfers between members, and it was interesting to compare the products being sold by various members, comparing thngs such as quality, price, materials, etc
And since it has been put down, a few more people have begun to sell spudgun parts. Gort for one. TalonXxX for another. |

I think we should either promote Firefox 2 (because it has a built-in web forum spell checker) or implement another spell checker. Or perhaps make it so when you click Submit to post or reply, before it lets you submit your post, a big error message pops up that says "Is your post grammatically accurate and readable by an average 5th grader?".
No but really, I use FireFox 2 (with [removed], Filterset, Fasterfox, IEtab, and Forecastfox extensions installed). It has a great built-in spell checker that underlines misspelled words in red in my forum posts. Let's either encourage the use of FireFox 2 or implement another spell check utility.
Also, a Links page with links to the how-to info at Burntlatke, Advancedspuds, etc... would be helpful.
More detail on the wiki. If people want to start suggesting articles for our wiki, I'll help write and edit them.
Maybe making the Search button at the top of the page bigger and easier to see - encourage n00bs to search rather than post frequently asked questions.
I'd love to see an HTML/Java chat room on the site for online members to use. I'd use it. PC, If you want help setting that up, just ask.
I'll think of more later.
Peace,
Pete Zaria. |

Never thought I would hear that from you Prof
Back on topic, I think the site should be advertised more, not sure how you would do it for free but more users the better.
I would also like to see......some more cannons from you
Also I have a few bugs.....
1:I automatically get logged of when I click the link givin in an email to view a topic ive posted in. I always click stay logged on but I get logged off again.
2:The new topic thing doesnt update regulary,e.g I click on a new topic link but it still says I havnt viewed it yet. |

| I like the idea of a onsite chat room and spell check. When new members regiester reading the forum rules should be mandatory reading, with a security link embeded to be sure they are being read. A hidden link with the instructions at the very end on how to find and use the link to complete registration. Simular ideas have been talked about before. |

I agree with the chatroom idea and Firefox spellcheck. I already use that and its definitely better . I also think that if you don't post at least once in the first month you register you should be deleted.

jrrdw I asked him or another mod that once and they didnt like it for some reason but maybe PCGUY would, I think on spudtech only 2000/6000 members post....Its probably worse here, but I think it sshould be mandatory for all new members to read the forum rules and regulations before they can make one post and possibly they even have to go to the spud wiki.
Edit: I keep getting "Invalid Session. Please resubmit the form." when I try and post |

it should be that if you dont post or send pc guy some sort of pm that says youre not an asshole and are genuinley intrested in spuddin then you should be deleted, and i also like the idea of an onsite chatroom.
i have heard this mentioned before, but you could try giving people a 2 week free trial, and after that a $5 membership would be required, that would keep the losers who come on and make useless posts all day long |

| Another good thing would be a two-week waiting period. During this period, which is activated as soon as you sign up for the forum, you are only allowed to browse, and you are not allowed to post. This would definitely lower the amount of people who simply come on to spudfiles and post a stupid question that they could have searched for and found the answer. |

And then they get quized on questions answered in the spud wiki
2weeks is along time maybe 1week or 10days. But their accounts should be deleted if they don't make a post in a month of singing up.
P.S Are you writing this all down PCGUY? |

| That's a good idea, but some people who have joined start out by posting something. |
