So I made my BBMG (finally) last friday night. It took about two hours. I'll post it as soon as possible, next week probably. It currently runs on my 7 gallon electric air compressor from ten years ago, which has a slight leak in the pressure cutoff valve(I assume a dryrotted o-ring). Therefore, the pressure is not at maximum; the gun sprays metal BBs about 30 yards with a spread of about 10 feet, using a BB rifle barrel. I would like to make this portable, along with an airsoft version of the gun. If anyone has experience using compressed air storage tanks, CO2 tanks, or camp propane tanks with their BBMG, please post the relative performance, efficiency/shooting time, and price of each.

-on a side note, who knows the best type of tubing for an airsoft barrel?(I don't want to take my gun apart)

ppl have done the c02 thingy bu ither the big tanks or the small 12 grams. They NEED regulators u cannot put upwards of 1000psi srtait into your gun. And im not sure of the propane tanks but its super flammable.

as far as efficiancy goes well i know on a full 20 oz bottle regulated at 60 psi i can fill a 3inch diameter 1.5 foot long tank about 6 times. (but i might get more out of it but the c02 tank froze)

SO on a BBMG i think a 20oz or 12oz tank would laast about 5-7 minutes on full flow constently held open.

I don't know how much pressure is normally used in a BBMG, but this or this might work. And Mcmaster sells some .27 ID aluminum for plastic BBs with a .25 diameter for reasonable prices. (order number: 1658T63)[/quote]

i have found that vortex guns perform best with co2. velocity is greatly improved compared to shop-air (air compressor) can use co2 without a regulator. use extra caution when building the gun, use strong epoxy at all joints and install screws as an added safety
