| I don't think that the wood is pressure rated, it might be DWV |

sorry, i left this for little while, but thank's for the getto award, and i'll try the inner tube idea
the reducer is just hot glued on, but i figure if anything should break mid-shot, that would be the safest
i hope this cannon makes way for a new line of cannon, "completely biodegradeable" |

The other day, I watched the Mythbusters and they had a wooden chambered combustion cannon. Granted, it was a very large chunk of wood trunk with a small hole drilled in it, shooting steel balls propelled by gunpowder, but it was still a wooden combustion.
But don't worry. Yours is more ghetto. |

Their first shot was a normal powder load and launched their stone ball into permanent orbit. The second shot was purposely overloaded with powder and the end plugged. The result of course was splinters....

| I like splinters, unless they are in my hind end of course. I think I'm gonna build my own ghetto combustion and see if I can't win the Ghetto Award!!!!! |

funny, i never saw that mythbusters, now to go to youtube and find it
i tried using an innertube to seal the back end up, but it was too thin when i dry fitted it soo i put two strips on top of each other then it was too thick so i split them and put duct tape on the strip and glued that on the door, then that was too big because i forgot about the thickness of the glue(tiny bit but still a factor) so i took the tape off and did it again and the door wouldn't close so i spent 20 minutes trying to shave off little slivers of tube and glue off the hinge side, then i gave up, ripped it all off the door and put 2 layers of duct tape, wasted 45 minutes just to revert to duct tape
DAMAGE TOMORROW!!! ok, i sleep now |

| does this count as a double post? anyway, this was a fun idea for a gun but it just isn't practical until i can find a way to seal it effectively, every time i tried it with my make-shift seal, my projectile gets 2/3 the way down the barrel and stops, but i think if i can find a good way to make a wood cannon seal properly (without a lathe) i think i'm gonna scrap this gun, oh wait, it already is, whatever... any suggestions for a good way to seal a wood gun like this would be helpful for future wood cannons would be greatly appreciated |

| All these posts and I can't believe it didn't remind anyone else of a mailbox. It reminds me of a mail box that can shoot back!!! well a lot more if the barrel came out the bottom and it was painted. If you are shooting it somewhere you are not supposed to and the cops came you could stick it in the ground they might just think it's a mailbox, or get on the bus to go to a field and shoot it, and be like"I just bought a mailbox". adds 007 appeal. I like looking at this one. i think it's cool. |
