What's another good source for free lead? No tire stores around here give out free tire weights, even if I did say it's for a science project.

Try the backstop of your local airgun/black powder range.

How about buying it from a scrap dealer, probably around 10 bucks a kilo.
That's not toooooooo expensive.

When you fill your car with refined oil remember that it has been paid for with blood and guts, some from your own countrymen, most not.

If you want to play it dangerous, you can get a few pounds of lead out of car batteries. You'll need corrosion resistant gloves, goggles, and a resperator, preferrably.

DEAD ones... By the way.

Go to a scrap yard, lead is only about $0.50USD/lb last time I got some. I was lucky enough to find a deposit from a caster (probably a reloader) in nice ~.5lb ingots that fit perfectly in my lead pot. If you are lucky, there will be some bullets there as well. I got some that are about .64 cal, they look to be for a muzzle loader. They melt nice and quick in a half full pot of molten lead, without freezing their surrounding. Great for when I am am casting a couple pounds of ball mill media. Hell, the bullets them selves would be good media...

I want to make a bullet shaped too but remember that you dont need 2 pieces of plaster for that

and am I helping if I say you maybe can make a mold for multiple balls ?
and I want to skip the wax part and use a marble since i have a marble barrel. :D
