It's still only ~30lbs, so while heavier than most launchers, it is still manageable. The design ergonomics make it very comfortable and balanced during firing, while the mass effectively absorbs the recoil energy of even heavy rounds.

Not yet, but I'm working on adding a sound system with an iPod dock so I can blast death metal while I'm out shooting.

Rag,
You are not being British hard enough. You're supposed to ask if it can make tea (or something almost, but not entirely, unlike tea)

You didn't happen to get chrono readings or a video of that shot did you?

Actually, I forgot the orange squash bottles that litter the place. I go through them at an insane rate, in spite of the fact I drink it at at double dilution. Mostly because I don't really drink tea, coffee, beer, Coke, etc, etc... well, anything other than squash really, apart from actual orange juice.

lol :D

British? I'm being old fashioned.

You see, I'm one of those old timey folks who likes my launchers nice and pneumatic, so a hybrid like this is far too modern for me.

Ugh, Oxygen mixes are killing me... The ball valves I'm using are capable of withstanding up to 11x air/fuel mixes, but introducing additional O2 concentration seems to do them in.

The new vent valve held up fine, but the seals in the chamber/meter separation valve gave out after only one air/oxy/fuel shot, subsequently destroying the pressure gauge when the pressure in the meter spiked to high levels. Clearly I need something more robust, such as a 2KPSI rated hydraulic ball valve.

I did manage to get a couple shots on video, and they are pretty impressive. The recoil with the 160g battery slugs is pretty substantial, though only slightly worse than that of a 12 gauge shotgun, so nothing to write home about.

The video should be up in a couple hours.

Took longer than I expected, as YouTube's uploader is extremely slow, and it was a fairly large file.

Impressive indeed, though it would be nice to see some footage of the thing recoiling :)

Yeah, I'm working on getting another camera, so I can film a closeup of the target, and simultaneously capture the recoil of the launcher.

Did the video go out at the D-cell shot? Every other part of the video was okay but it all went black at that shot, so I didn't see it... other than that, nice job, I want to see you firing it.

:D That's probably my favourite guitar solo ever...

They came out the barrel along with the projectile. Probably pieces of the duct tape sabot burning in the increased oxygen levels.

Nah, the shot was just dark. It looked fine when I rendered it in Sony Vegas, but YouTube completely destroyed the video quality. You can see that I used increased lighting for the next shot.

other than that, nice job, I want to see you firing it.

We'll see.
