Getting a little nervous...

Post questions and info about hybrid (compressed gas with fuel) powered cannons here. This includes discussion about fuels, ratios, ignition systems, build types, safety, and anything else relevant.

The only problem I've got with that statement is that it doesn't come with a pedigree. More to the point: PVC is impact sensitive. How do I know some dolt at the PVC factory didn't drop that piece of pipe? It *should* be able to handle everything, but since he dropped it there are now microcracks... blah blah blah.

PVC gives me the heebie jeebies.

Exactly. I've had 260PSI rated PVC blow at 110psi for no apparent reason. It will be made in the same fashion as in America and from the same stuff. It may not happen often, but once was enough to make me cautious when using PVC even if the rating boasts a 100PSI+ difference.

Well sure, just about anything can be destroyed by dropping or hitting it hard enough. I don't believe it to be a systemic issue with the vast majority of the product though. The stuff does have to stand up reliably to real plumbing/pressure installations.

Did you have any troubles with your 0-wood pneumatic?

No, but shortly after proving that it worked as designed(*), I destroyed it as I just didn't feel it was safe to keep around.

(*) My primary motive for building that gun was to prove that GGDT could *predict* what a gun would do... I modeled the hell out of that gun long before I bought so much as one component.

As an aside, I remember viewing the 0-wood for the first time and got a good hearty laugh at the naming concept...being an avid golfer some (now many) years ago.

Frankrede, there is a line between being courageous and being stupid, and you crossed it...

;) :D
Though really, you should know better.
Or were you hanging out with friends and did non responsible things...

"Bottle twistin iz gettin borin guys....hic... Hey frank lets fire that cannon of yurs!"
-"Yeah frank, go get it! Ill drivez tu the shop to get morez beer and yu gets yur cannon okayz?"

And then frank got his cannon out. They had a wonderful time firing all those empty bottles at other peoples property. It was great fun to run from the cops and after they went home they all woke up with a big headache next morning.
