Golfball barrel sabot

Unread postAuthor: MrCrowley » Fri Aug 24, 2007 5:14 pm

Today I came across some of those cardboard tubes that are used for 'Glad Wrap'(plastic food wrap). I thought the O.D looked awfully close to that of a golf ball barrels I.D, so I tested it out and Bob's your uncle, it fits. I tried two types of ammo in this sabot:

1) Rolled up newspaper
2) Rubber practice golfball

Both projectiles performed well, I wasn't expecting much I just thought it could be fun to shoot some newspapers. The rubber golfball I had always wanted to use but it was ever so slightly too small, this cardboard sabot fixed that problem.

Here's a quick video:

Edit: All these shots are around 40psi.
