JB Quick is said to cure in 8 hours and dry in a half hour. I've tried it and it dries closer to an hour, so maybe 16 hours cure. It's a little more expensive than regular JB Weld, but if you really don't want to wait an extra 12 hours, go for it.

I laughed so hard when i read that. Mainly because its happened to me so many times. The level of incompetency at most chain hardware stores is amazing. I asked for sch40 once and the dudes like " we only sell pvc here". :?

same thing happens to me all the time, if i go in there without my dad, i get 5 people within 2 minutes asking me if i need help finding something, and then after a while they send someone to wander around the area where i'm at to watch me, one time the lady that always sees me says "well, we can't have minors in here for too long" i'm always in there buying random stuff and i always pay, you'd think they would remember who i am after a couple years!! that really pisses me off :angry5:

They know me pretty well at my local DIY, but it's a lovely little family business, and so I don't get any problems there. And they have almost any fitting I want in there.

The bigger chain stores have a lot of employees that aren't particularly clued up to the nature of what is in their store. Being older than the average spudder (but not too old I can't pull off the old "college project" line), and also having a general rule not to explain exactly what I'm doing has largely saved me from any spotty teenager following me round (being taller than most of them also helps to persuade them to go away if they do decide to try to poke their nose in too deep).

On a brief note, the people at the local DIY do know what I'm doing. They're a great bunch of people, and they've often got good advice.
