you could just tell your friend to use one of these to make the ammo and just give him a normal spud gun

Well first things first, you shouldn't make the cannon out of PVC. As you may know, PVC is very brittle in the cold.

Ummm extreme snowball fight as in....shooting them at real live humans? It's cool to build him a spudder that shoots snowballs. However, you should discourage him from actually shooting them AT anyone.

Throwing a snowball at someone is one thing. Shooting one at someone with a spud gun is quite another very dangerous proposition.

Try something like http://myaircannons.com/snowballblaster.html that. Whatever you do, don't buy the plans, unless you don't understand it at all.

Roboman: i cant use that because he need snowballs not snow clouds so im gonna try the ammo that mateo sugjested.

Unless you're shooting frozen snowballs, I doubt they would stay together when fired; they need to be accellerated more gradually, something like this would be much better.[/url]

I would not suggest doing anything of the sort- someone will get hurt. Either from the weakend PVC or the recipient of a high velocity ball of ice.

The nifty pic that FishBoy found while skimming the internet for swimsuits (jk) is a great ide, if he is warring in a forested area. Surgical tubing or simple bungees for a sling between two trees can launch very large snowballs (think snowman's head) a large distance.

If tried shooting snowballs, it does not work out. You end up getting a burst of powder that travels a few feet. It could have been the fault of the cannon I used, operating it at 600PSI  .

If it snows again, I'll have to try the my newest launcher (this one I bought). It operates between 180PSI to 280PSI (if I remember correctly) with an internal regulator:
