im short of electrical tape
so im wondering if duct is shock proof

Only one way to find out... :] Trial and error- eh, shock?
Ya if you cant Duct it, F it. Just put a few layers on.
a friend will bail you outta jail,
a good friend will be right next to you saying "damn last night was awsome!"
Duct tape is not really shock proof but with 2 or 3 layers will stop you from getting a shock, I wouldn't recommend using it on high power electronics but small 12v systems and etc go ahead.
