Building a Lathe For Making Piston Valves

Unread postAuthor: kf4oij » Fri Apr 06, 2007 10:21 pm

Hey Guys,

So, I finally finished a lathe I'd been working on to make piston valves after talking to the "Pimp". Here are some pics, to save bandwidth they are on my server.

Here is the link to more pictures and details if your interested.

Thats some good craftsmanship, but wouldn't a regular wood lathe be better and last longer?

or forget it, that thing rocks.

Me 'Pimp', or another 'Pimp'? (I am going to feel dumb if I am the mentioned 'Pimp'.)

Nice woodworking, and construction. Personally I would have incorporated a bit more metal working, although that may not be available to you. Just a concern with tolerances, and all.
