Lathe! Finally one of my own!

Unread postAuthor: Necrosis » Fri May 16, 2008 2:49 pm

I am so happy right now! I finally bought a lathe!

It's all lever controlled! So I don't have to manyally switch a gear to do anything! Even threading is controlled by levers!

It has 75 cm between centers, wich is not particularly big for industrial lathes... but quite for a hobby one!

It was 750 euros.. Came with a bucketload of cutting tools.. (it litterally is a bucked full of cutters) And 8 speed change thingies. (to change your cutting tool rapidly) It had way more stuff I don't know the names of... and a special device to machine spheres...

I mean... YAY YAY YAY YAY :D :D

It's a meuser (type unknown) conventional lathe.

I got it of a farmer who'se had ot for over 12 years but never used it.... and he bought it of an old man... so it's probably 20 years old or so. It's still in prefect condition though.

and I know the absolute basics of lathing. like measuring.. making sure you've measured.. and measure again for good measure. :D
