Young male buying piping and fittings = spudgunner
or Young male buying piping and fittings = a penis pump

Indeed!

My job is my hardware store.. and I dont even have to pay. :D

They throw away sections of 1 metre long stainless steel regularly..

Not to mention the huge pile of asluminium tubing and regular steel tubing they throw away.... solid too.

Still have to buy the valves when I do not make them myself though.

What's really surprising about the store I go to is that it's little bigger than a corner shop.

I'm surprised at how many people have been accused of stealing things.

The employes at my Home Hardware, Central, Home Depot, True Value, and Canadien Tire all follow me around the isle asking me if they can help or if there is anything specific I am looking for when I say no they seem to rearange the copper fittings I just smile at them and they walk away olny to come back to ask if I am sure I don't need any help 5 mins. later. One guy at True Value just stared at me and talked about how exspensize copper is I said yeah I know when I made my first copper gun it cost me like 50 dollars. Well he left me alone after I said that.

You can tell how awesome a cannon is by the pressure used.

At small hardware stores I always get watched by multiple staff members to see if i'm stealing anything because I fit into their over generalization of a shoplifter...Under 18.

those racists at my ace hardware would sometimes go on vacation and their non racist children would give me stuff like sprinkler valves for free because they knew that their parents are mean to me :D

Yeah, it's that important.

EDIT: Wow, this topic really took off (well, for a topic not about zombies, anyway)

I have a Home Depot about a 15 min drive away, never lets me down. Its so huge and anonymous, and with the self-checkout option you can pretty much eliminate all human contact...
I think I went there four times in one day once, including one time where I nearly decapitated an old man when I walked around a corner with a 10' pipe length, and no one so much as gave me a second glance. All the workers were different each time anyway, they must have short shifts or something.

Anyone ever heard of Attwoods? I've got family in Kilgore, Texas and I usually spend a day or so in there everytime I visit. Its like a Home Depot/Ranch supplier/Feed Store and is about the size of a super walmart. I catch a chubb every time I walk in...

Anyway, I usually use a combination of Home Depot, Ace, and Coburn's Pluming Supply. Never had any trouble yet, but I do get some strange looks at Coburn's when I ask for only a couple 2.5" fittings.

Whats fun is asking a new kid at Ace for 2.5" pvc fittings. I usually act like I'm in a rush and in dire need of those fittings. Its kinda fun to seem em sweat for a little bit. It seems like nobody can find them...

If they happen to have 2.5" fittings, try asking for 1.75" fittings

The first time I ever went into my local ace a kid asked me what I was making. I told him I was making a spudgun and he started laying stuff out for me. He did warn me not to shoot potatoes with nails in them though... That was funny. Now they just ask me if I need any help. I never do...

I've never been accused of shoplifting (or watched for that matter, that I've noticed at least). I even walk around with my backpack sometimes. I once had a big fitting in the mesh pocket of my backpack (I bought it at another plumbing store, it was a 2" pressure rated whye that sadly didn't work for my piston valve) and I was never questioned. They're cool.

Home Depot near me is random which fittings they carry and vary from store to store.
So I was looking for almost an hour in the same section and the guy passed four times like "need help" So I used that same trick mentioned. And had him looking for a while knowing it's not there.
Finally "well why do you need it in pressure rated?" I said "Sprinkler system" He was like OH "Sprinkler system(as in more info)?", "Yeah sprinkler to water plants and I need that coupling" "Oh".
Course then he cut a few inches off a 10' piece to fit in couplings so I felt bad but that worked out and next time he'll avoid me too.
I always know a few different uses for whatever I'm working with.
I like Starman's "Engineering mode" also. 8)

I went down to BBQ Galore the other day(place in Aus) and I asked for a simple pezo ignitor and the guy working there imediately said is it for a spuddy?I nodded he walked off got me one that has a built in spark gap that jumps about 8mm and gave it to me for $7 instead of the $18 asking price,I was very happy but then when I got home I was using it and resizing the spark gap and I lost in important part.Win some you loose some I guess.

I only got it about yesterday, I was searching for a half-decent avatar, and I was like, "Well, hell of a lot better than a PSI gauge"(no one has that, right?)
The google images picture leads back to here.
Nice tattoo.
