The pneumatic propelled one was the lamest one shown in my opinion.

This reminds me of another good ole boy invention....rotary tiller racing..

Haha that's pretty cool. Stupid, but cool. I'm surprised it worked as well as it did.

Actually, I'm not sure WE could do significantly better without endangering the person along for the ride.

It's ultimately about getting the friction down and the power up through bigger air tanks and launch cylinders. I just wouldn't want to be the "pilot"...

Awww Damn
I thought by "propelling people" you meant shoving someone into the barrel of a spud gun and shooting them out. :P

Nice!

Well, yeah, but think about what WE could get something like that to do...Twisted Evil

40" bore, human sabot round, 500 psi.

One ride on such a thing and you will remember the definition of "G-force" for the rest of your life*. :D

*As long as it lasts.

Actually, I'm not sure WE could do significantly better without endangering the person along for the ride.

Hmmmm...
Just have the maximum acceleration a human can survive and hold on to that as long as possible (over 10 meters long).
Land in a lake or use a parachute to survive.
