Even I agree with you on this one. Some of the comments are equally frustrating:

As a 1993-born girl, I played with Lego bricks all throughout my childhood and at the age of 6, it encouraged me to become an architect, which I am now studying in college. I didn't know Lego started marketing movie-based sets in the 2000s and some time ago, my 8-year old nephew refused to let me play with him when I asked because "Lego is for boys" (his words, not mine) which got me furious. It's absurd that in his 8 years of life, he learned misogyny and that's what's wrong with society today.
Saying 'lego is for boys' is not misogynistic, even if you're an adult and not a child saying it. While I disagree with the view that lego is only for boys, it's not that far removed from saying 'barbie dolls are for girls' (obviously not misandry).

As to the video, I understand that some women/girls don't like it when their toys and products are so heavily influenced by gender stereotypes (for example: barbie dolls and some of the girl's lego in that video), but I don't see why lego made for guys has to also be pushed away from the testosterone-fuelled, gun-happy, 'violent' sets that we all loved as kids. In our minds as 8 year olds, when exploring a distant planet with a hyperdrive-capable space exploring rocketship, you're going to want big ion blasters on the ship's exterior and a few smaller ones for exploring the alien inhabited surface. It's just common sense :D

I think arguments like hers are the biggest detriment to their cause. I agree that lego could make more gender-neutral sets that don't have fake plastic toy guns (though I'm sure lego already does this, perhaps just not the ones featured in TV ads frequently) in response to making less barbie-esque sets that look like something you'd find on MTV or E! channel, but that doesn't mean the incredibly gender-stereotyped sets made for boys should also change. Us guys like those, we don't want them to change. You can have your change but we'll keep our ones the way they are.

I didn't actually watch the whole thing (how could anyone) so did she have a legitimate argument for getting rid of the sets stereotyped for boys except for maybe raising the flawed argument about violence? Or is it because the girls want to get rid of their gender-stereotyped sets, boys have to also to make things 'equal'?

I have a feeling this round of discussion about feminism wont be nearly as long as the previous :D

As someone might know, i run my computer with 4 screens using 2 graphics cards. the "second" one is crap and the one i use with my middle screens was very high end few years ago. Reason i have not changed these are that as i only have 800w power supply i would need to buy larger power AND better graphics card.

But, what im asking is that as id like to play Skyrim and other nice games using multi monitors, i noticed that using dual graphics ruins everything. So i need a way to make my games think that i only use one card. Anyone has a fix to this thing? Been googling for hours by now tried few things but nothign has worked so far

yea I know skyrim has issues with multi gpu setups...

you wouldn't necessarily have to buy a new power supply, the current gen cards from both AMD and nvidia has pretty decent power requirements since I think both of these manufacturers now use 28nm gpu's.
if you look at this 7970 for example they recommend a 500w power supply for it, and it will run 4 screens alone that card... I think nvidia has got a solution to compete with that card, but I like the performance/price ratio of amd more...

with an 800 watt power supply, you should be able to run a quite powerful setup. personally I have a NVidia 670 FTW as my main card, and a 9800gt as my secondary (no connected displays, only for bit coin mining). all of this is on a 620 watt supply but my total draw has never exceeded 490 watts. and that's with my top overclock settings(4.7ghz i5-3570k and both graphics overclocked also).

But as Heimo said, a newer graphics card with be more power efficient, have better performance, have all the fun stuff, and most support 4 monitors by themselves.

That one caught my eye too. Classifying an 8 year old as a misogynist beggars belief. And this from a 20 year old!

I'm reminded of this piece about Anders Breivik's upbringing which I found quite moving.

Downplaying boys' natural predilection to be aggressive and competitive is a terrible thing to do. If it wasn't for such boys which then grew up to be industrious men, all the technology that makes the manufacture and distribution of lego possible would never have existed.

Friendship and sharing breeds stagnation, not progress. African tribesmen were happy to walk on their two feet century after century, it took discontent Westerners to dream up the automobile.

I grew up in a gun-free household, I was only allowed a toy gun once, for carnival, when was dressed up as a cowboy. Gee, that worked :) I used to make guns out of lego, and look at me now.

I forced myself to watch it all to see if she has a valid point to make, no such luck. One of the things that irked me is the implication that a profit making corporation has some kind of moral obligation to enforce the femminist agenda. The point of the organisation is to make money, fullstop. Do the publishers of Cosmopolitan add more male oriented articles to widen their readership? Clearly it would be ludicrous, and they are not condemned for this omission.

If a gender neutral toy would sell, they would be unbelievably happy to make it! One single product to make and market for boys and girls, it's a manufacturer's dream! The fact though is that it wouldn't sell, because boys and girls are *gasp* different.

I also object to her presence in the video, there's a lot more "LOOK AT ME!" than the agenda being promoted. She is clearly heavily made up and lit in order to conceal her plain features, thereby conforming to her own gender stereotypes.

I have a feeling this round of discussion about feminism wont be nearly as long as the previous :D

All this agreement is boring hehe... but the fact that this woman's views are resonating with the people commenting shows that they are not being treated as extreme and are slowly becoming mainstream, and your previous defence of the "fairer" sex is part of what makes this possible.

At least there are some women who realise that this is madness, Christina Sommers makes a good counterpoint:

Twenty years ago, Hasbro, a major American toy manufacturing company, tested a playhouse it hoped to market to both boys and girls. It soon emerged that girls and boys did not interact with the structure in the same way. The girls dressed the dolls, kissed them, and played house. The boys catapulted the toy baby carriage from the roof. A Hasbro manager came up with a novel explanation: “Boys and girls are different.”

The danger of allowing these gender-neutral views to become mainstream is alarming, this news from Sweden is downright disturbing:

when it comes to feminists I think that the best approach is to both not give a f@ck and not f@ck

My setup ( i7 875k, Asus p7p55d pro, 8gb's of DDR3, 2x Kingston 3TB SATAII drives, 1x 1TB Seagate SATAII drive, as a main graph card i use GTX-475 and secondary card is gt-6800) It eats quite alot of power, so i was thinking of ripping the gt-6800 away and getting like gtx-670 and then using my gtx-475 as secondary graph card. That would basically mean that id need a new power

Oh, and i NEVER use AMD or ATI, i just don't :D

with a single 670 you will be able to run all 4 of your monitors off it alone. and the 670 has higher performance than a 470 so you could run just a single card and avoid the need for a larger power supply

Yeah, but i have noticed that i het few FPS more using more than one card, so id like to keep the way it is, just upgrade the setup. Yes i know that its alot more powerfull than my current.

But for now, id basically need a way to run games multi screen via some hack or other like that

Some dramatic combat footage from Syria:

Around 29 minutes you can see a successful RPG strike.

I find it unbelievable that over 70 years after the battle of Stalingrad, tanks are still being committed to urban combat  not sure if it is ignorance, despair or insanity.

Someone actually survived that hit? I did not expect a giant flamethrower either.

Speaking of computers, just got a cheap new one since my laptop died. Nothing great: AMD FX-8320 Eight-Core AM3+ CPU 3.5Ghz ( Turbo speeds of up to 4.0Ghz), Sapphire HD7850 GHZ OC EDITION 2G GDDR5 256Bit, 1tb HDD, 23.5" full HD monitor, 16gb DDR3. I wanted an i5 3470 with a GTX 660 but I was a little short on funds and didn't want to build my own computer as I needed on ASAP.

But I can finally play Hitman Absolution, on pretty good settings too. Awesome game but I do miss not being able to pick your own weapons before each level and its a bit too linear compared to Bloodmoney with reduced re-playability IMO. However, the A.I. seems a lot better and there are a few new cool things to have fun with.
