The value of a man's work

Unread postAuthor: Kilash » Thu May 23, 2013 1:16 am

My wife accepted a job on my behalf. I got paid 20 dollars to do something that took 5 hours to finish.

That makes out to be 4 dollars an hour. I don't know whether to cry or laugh at myself.

Laugh at yourself while crying.

I have to ask, what was the job?

... or grow a pair of proper balls.

A friend of mine got married recently, I was present when he was given the following advice:

On your wedding night, when your new wife is waiting for you in bed wearing nothing but her best lingerie, walk up to her slowly, and beat her. Beat her hard until your fists are numb. And as she lays there sobbing, wiping the blood and saliva from her face, look her in the eyes and tell her: "That was for no reason. Imagine what will happen if you cross me."

That my friend, is the secret to a happy marriage.

Laugh at yourself for being whipped....then grow a pair as suggested.

If you let people walk on you...they will...and at every opportunity.

This includes your wife. Have expectations of her and her behavior... HOLD her to them. Life has consequences for the choices we make...a marriage is no different.

In many ways, women are like children...we get the behavior that we accept. Set a higher standard.

Unless they are college-aged women. Then your higher standards earn you names like "fascist" and "old-fashioned." ....Because morality has died and my generation thinks there is virtue in meeting some arbitrary quota of drugs, sex, and partying.

I digress... it's all a lost cause.

I "edit" papers for college and university students too dumb or lazy to do it themselves. Mostly rich kids from another country who probably would never use their degree or diploma since their parents crap out money onto wheelbarrows. I give no guarantee for a good mark, but so far my work has earned them within a grade of 75-80%. So 4 dollars and hour is a bit of a kick in the nuts. The last essay I did, I charged $250.

Sorry about the late post, I was working my "real" job as a mule for my landscaper uncle. A lot of good hilarious insights from you guys  .

and JSR, I never and will never hit my wife. But I do sometimes accidentally elbow her in the face .

Beauty can make a grown man cry, though he's more likely to encounter it in growling oiled metal than tired folds of flesh.

Ne'er a truer word spoken.

A quite interesting discussion on the women/children relationship, I think they can thank/blame biology.

Unless they are college-aged women. Then your higher standards earn you names like "fascist" and "old-fashioned." ....Because morality has died and my generation thinks there is virtue in meeting some arbitrary quota of drugs, sex, and partying.

The notion of "growing a pair" includes developing an immunity to such criticism, as well as realising there is nothing more arbitrary than seeking the approval of women.

The last essay I did, I charged $250.

I have mixed feelings about this. It's good that you're making a buck out of it, but you are simultaneously assiting the devaluation of the education system, while at the same time missing out on it if you're good enough to get qualifications while still working as a "mule".

and JSR, I never and will never hit my wife. But I do sometimes accidentally elbow her in the face .
