The gun looks great, but if you wanted to decrease the pilot volume, you could switch the places of the fill valve and the hose on the metal tee connector, and turn the tee connector so it is pointing down, then you could trim the hose quite a bit.

It's hard to soar with eagles when you're working with turkeys.

As for the firing early because of the shrader, consider putting a check valve between the shrader and the qev?

Yeah spose I could move things around to shorten the tube, might do that at some stage. Was going to use a blowgun but the cheaper ones were only rated to something like 90psi. Was thinking of spring loading the ball valve so it will snap open.

I thought about putting a small ball valve between the schrader and the QEV huh, but, most of the time the filling tube pops off without any trouble. its only if you take it off slowly that it happens.

I had the same problems with my QEV, I just stuck a 1/4" ball valve to stop it firing by schrader discharge.

Also, the 90psi rated blow guns can handle a lot more then 90psi, if you keep it between 100-200psi the worse that will happen is that it will leak.
I use mine up to 150psi.

ARGH, where did you get that QEV, they are impossible to find in New Zealand without stealing them off a machine that uses them. Nice job by the way, would look awesome with a more realistic trigger and stock. Much better than anything i can come up with in my ghetto workshop.

Edit: I just read your first QEV rifle thread. Can you please tell me the name of the hydraulic place you got yours from?

Ah, one must search, young Skywalker, if one wants to find.

It took me a while. Also RScomponents New Zealand have "Parker" brand ones but there expensive as and not sure if they sell to the public.

The place where I got mine is called "Diverse Hydraulics".
But really, any place that deals with pneumatics and hydraulics should have some.
