SG-Vengeance Golfball Gun

Unread postAuthor: MrCrowley » Sat Nov 24, 2007 10:34 pm

This is my last gun I bought parts for in America, it completes my American Spudgun stock pile :P

All three guns I've made with American parts are relatvily simple and basic, that's what I was going for again because I feel like having some reliable, multi-purpose guns I can bunt around with without worrying too much about them.

This one is similar to the <A HREF="http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/viewtopic,p,123690.html#123690">SGI</a> in terms of design.

It borrows my <A HREF="http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/viewtopic,p,100616.html#100616">SGA</a> golfball barrel for the time being.

I also had three almost empty cans of spray paint, hence the quick camo job where I just layered all the colours on over about 15minutes.

Specs:
Barrel: 40mm PVC PN18 Golfball Barrel/15mm PVC PN18 Paintball Barrel
Chamber: 100mm PVC PN18 Chamber.
Valve: 25mm/1" Blowgun Modded Sprinkler Valve
Guage: 0-260PSI
Fill Valve: Schrader
Operating Pressures: 60-115psi

Here's a quick video shooting spuds with it this afternoon

Update:

New Video of multiple damage shots:

Update:

T-Shirt Barrel, was originally my 80mm DWV chamber from my very first combustion, which I decided did better as a T-Shirt barrel, so I cut it up and glued on a spare 2" threaded adapter.

I tape up old T-Shirts so they don't come apart when fired and they seem to go around about 60m at 70psi and have quite a bit of kick.

Maybe a video tomorrow :D

Oh gods, JSR will have a field day.

Nice there MrC. Fairly simple, but I never hold that against anything (or anyone... :D ).

I could probably do with a stock of "generally all-purpose spudguns for not worrying to much about" - I love all my spudguns too much. It's always a sad day when I have to take one apart to make room for a new one. I try to keep the pieces and reuse them though, bit like evil genetic splicing really.

EDIT: Woo, 250 posts.

Very nice indeed, the camo paintjob sets it off nicely.
Is 70psi the highest you plan to go with it?

America, the greatest gangster of all time. With 200 million odd foot soldiers at it's whim and call.
When you fill your car with refined oil remember that it has been paid for with blood and guts, some from your own countrymen, most not.

Thanks, 115psi is. My compressor goes to 115psi, and I can't be bothered taking my 120psi pump up to 120psi with that chamber for an extra 5psi.

Thanks and no it's not Kyrlon, just normal spray paint. I can't find Krylon Fusion in NZ.

Oh I see does the normal spray paint flake off or you can scratch it off with your finger nail?

It will for about a day, then after a week it seems to be quite immune to finger nail scratching and bumping.

Oh, been there already :) though in this case it would appear to be a Cartman Dawg rendition of "brother" :D

oh, nice one Mr.Crowley :) Still, "Vengence"? How about "Sprinkler McCrowley with fries and coke" :D

re: the paint, have you tried clear coating to protect the finish?

Haha I was waiting for you JSR.

Yeah Vengeance came from the V2 rocket, I just happened to be reading some articles about it and figured I needed a name for this gun, so vengeance came to mind.

Yeah I have, the only good thing that came from it was the nice 'lolly (candy)' smell. It also darkened the colour quite a bit and didn't work very well.

Edit: Hahaha I watched that bounty hunter show for the first time the other night, it has prime time slot of Thursday at 11:30pm on a channel no one watches :P

Oh yeah thought I might say the gun is spending the night in my room tonight, not sure why but i've had a tradition of keeping new cannons in my room for the first night
