The Rainy Sunday Project

I started this little coax last Sunday. It was raining all day and I was bored.

Data:
Total Length: 89 cm
Barrel: 15mm, 79cm long
Chamber: 1" -> 20cm galvanized steel
Piston: hot glue, bolt -> 22mm
Pilot valve: homemade push valve
Fill port: homemade check valve

Image

The pilot volume is still small due to the build in check valve.

The gun is still light enough to hold it in one hand.

The attachment of the trigger looks a little provisional because I wasn't in the mood to build a handle. The chamber didn't look so good anymore with all it's scratches, so I covered it with inner tubing which provides a nice grip. The filling port is basically a 8mm steel pipe and I used a thread cutting tool to make it fit the bike pump and to mount it into the end cap.

Well, I think that's all for the moment.

Nice job. Looks a little awkward to hold though. What pressure do you plan to take this to?

Yeah, it's that important.

Normally I hold it with both hands and then it is really comfortable. I just took the 3rd picture to show the scale of the gun.

I already took it to 270psi.
It's easy to trigger and has a good punch.

Always liked your homemade pilot valve! Could go a bit detailed into those things? I know it activates when that push button is pressed down, but how does the air vent? It doesn't have a hole there like your neat push button pilot.

How did you construct that check valve? :D my shrader seems to be leaky.

It looks like a push button valve actuated by a lever. Nice, simple, aesthetically pleasing and good flow.

Nice job MRR, I like how you covered up the ugly galvanized

Not a the moment. It's raining here "again".
So I decided to take the pilot valve apart to build a better handle.
