Unread postAuthor: sl33k » Sun Nov 08, 2009 6:37 am

Yea this is my first attempt at making a spudgun,

Specs:
20mm barrel at 40cm

1.25L Soda bottle with a bike valve

Going to add a sight, scope and stock, and a very nice paint job.

Cool, but don't expect very impressive power. I would leave the extra's for your next cannon, may I suggest a sprinkler valve?

Well its clean for what you made, not that bad. I suggest you look around at the wiki, before wasting money and time upgrading this.

Have a go at making a gun with a sprinkler valve, mod it if you want to, and then use only PVC pipe not soda bottles.

Well there is nothing wrong with metal either  Anyways it looks ok but as others said it would be a wise desicion to save all those upgrades for a better gun.

Yeah, it's that important.

I would suggest you move to a 6mm barrel, you'll get much better velocity. Using a blowgun as a valve isn't really good for anything above that calibre.

another Aussie. good stuff. probably too early to delve into it, but save that blowgun for a nice copper piston gun, then incorporate that into a stock, and then you can add your scope and paintjob

If you used copper you could run much higher pressures and use a shorter barrel/chamber and still get higher performance.

It's a good start, though performance won't be too excellent. You'll really enjoy it when you move up to a more powerful valve.
