The Javelin

Unread postAuthor: Willdebeers » Sun Nov 29, 2009 7:31 am

This is a quick, side project to my (undisclosed) main project. It utilises the extremely powerful sprinkler valve, mine was a irritrol 1" one. I expoxied in a blowgun, and was staggered by the performance. It works much better without the spring, and is noticably louder.

Features an ACOG sight, from an old bb gun (Cybergun Famas)

Breach loading

Rifled Barrel (OMG!)

.75" Barrel , 2" Chamber

and a handle over the blowgun (1.5" DWV)

Everything is 8 Bar pressure rated.

PICS!

P.S, Im from the UK, so sprinkler valves are pretty rare.

Yeah it's taped down :) I need to get some hose clamps and so the tape is only temporary. Damage pics hopefully tomorrow or something.

What do you shoot to take advantage of the rifling? Does it make a noticeable difference?
Where did you get the sprinkler valve?

I shoot potatoes, and they work very well. The accuracy is improved greatly, especally over long distances. I got the sprinkler valve off amazon.

Ah wow sold by Amazon itself. Sprinklers are good beginner's valves as a step up from ball valves, and, it's a shame we don't really get them over here. I guess it's just not really sunny enough to ever need automatic lawn irrigation!

How do you cope with having the grip off centre like that?

Sweet gun though, does the scope have much function or is it more of a show-piece?

The scope is very handy. The grip is fine, infact it is more confortable for me there.
