Most fire extinguishers have a threaded valve port.

see this link for typical internal construction:

The typical 5 pound FE tank will have .75-16UNF-2B threads.
So if you want to use the the existing threads you will need an adapter.

Now using an unmodified FE tank on a 1-1/2 valve is ridiculous because the ID of the pipe of the adapter will be about .5 or less inches.

You may as well use a 1/2 or 3/4 QEV not your 1-1/2!

Now do you understand why I welded a 1-1/2 coupler.

Dewey helped me in the designing of my cannon and he was a big help. I have fired my cannon well over a thousand times and no problems as of yet.

Sorry I showed it at the beginning of the original video but I had to cut because of time restrictions. It stands nine feet tall at the moment. I'll upload pics today.

Here is an overview of the finished product of the launcher. And for you who haven't seen the damage video there is a link in the description of the video.

Huge improvement from the last one. Must be rather loud! Its a dust collector valve and or a pulse valve, not a solenoid. Pay no attention to what e bay lists them as. What color are you going to paint it???

Not sure yet. Maybe like orange and black striped. And it is a lot louder now.
I cant actually shoot that often because of that reason because it scares the neighbors dog.
