Spudrocket Model 1

Unread postAuthor: RalseTerth » Fri Apr 13, 2007 1:32 pm

Yeah, this is my first potato gun, the Spudrocket! It has breech loading, and it can fit multiple barrels. The primary barrel is 3/4", and there's a 2" muzzle for shooting tennis balls. Here's some pics (I'll have damage shots up soon):

It's pretty good for your first cannon, and you did a good job with the priming. BTW, how does a tennis ball fit in a 2" muzzle?

Oh yeah, a modified sprinkler valve will improve performance like you wouldn't believe. When I added one to my first marble cannon, the increase in power scared the crap out of me. That same cannon can now send .5" metal ball bearing easily through 2x4s with my 5' barrel!

I would suggest setting up a spring system to open that valve quicker plus it is much easier to aim.
