WWR (Winter Wonder Rifle)

Unread postAuthor: origin unknown » Mon Aug 13, 2007 7:32 pm

Well... it has been a long time since I have posted any spudguns. Here is my wonderful new Winter Wonder Rifle. It has been designed to be shot mostly during the winter, as the name implies. This gun is basically my chamber and barrel from my old gun with the addition of a new ALPHA TECHNOLOGIES 1/2" QEV ordered from Fastenal, wood stock, and a schrader valve instead of the old quick disconnect fitting. The stock came from a broken toy cap rifle that I sanded down and drilled out a hole for the blowgun to fit through. I can wait to shoot some ice slugs out of it after it gets a little cooler down here.

The QEV cost $21 at Fastenal.

I am going to hopefully redirect the fill valve downwards to help with that problem.

beautiful ergonomics there, looks like the sort of launcher that would be ideally graced with a red dot scope.

I never knew that they made QEVs like this America until I googled Mead QEV where I clicked the link to the exaust valves page at Fastenal and found they made ones like this in America. The manufacturer of the valve even has their company based in my state!

It has the breech load feature using the compression fitting like hotwired's copperhead prime. It buried the nail dart half way into a solid wood telephone pole from 30 feet away.

They hold up fine after being fired, but when you try to pull it out of wood with pliers the the taped part on the back slides back a little.

i want to make a copper gun but i want to try it with a home made piston valve. Anyone have any ideas on how to make one for a copper gun? what would you use as a piston? I can use inner tube rubber for the sealant. Well if i cant find anything then i would probably get a QEV.
