What harm is there in adding a single line for a debounce delay?

heh... I was expecting tech to mention contact bounce.... dude you're predictable

ohh yeah and as PVC Asenal has mentioned - debauncing might be a problem with circuits but it isn't with arduino. Basically speaking all basic tutorials explain how to use debaunce delay

Reed switches are not immune from mechanical shock. A hall switch doesn't need to be shock mounted in a high vibration location. A glass reed switch will need shock mounting and extra protection against breakage. Hall sensors are smaller, more robust and don't need the extra line of code.

If you predict reliability, then yes, I am predictable. :D
