light diy airtanks

Unread postAuthor: iknowmy3tables » Wed Mar 10, 2010 5:30 pm

this web page I found is pretty interesting, it's about compressed air powered air craft, it has great information on DIY hydro testing including the hydro test of a soda bottle, and a homemade air tank made from beercans that hydro tested to have a bursting pressure of over 300psi

I've always wondered how to turn a beer can into an airtank

That's cool. It makes me wonder how much pressure a
soup can could stand up to...

not much, I would expect, because soup is generally not carbonated, so they don't need to be designed to hold pressure.

Do not look back, and grieve over the past, for it is gone;
Do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come;
Live life in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.

I remember seeing an article about steam powered model aircraft in my aeromodelling days, the poor man's effort came to grief when it tipped over in a heavy landing and spilled fuel all over the intricate balsa structure and turned it into a fireball :?
