your suggestion defiantly got me thinking in the right direction thanks, also it seems a 1/4" of A40 rubber is plenty for a valve like this one.

I'm going to have a tough time coming up with the rest of the gun. I don't really want to put all of this work in to a valve and shove it onto a mediocre gun.
Any one have any thoughts?

I know what you mean. I think something that should be included in the launcher should be a nice breech load, considering the skill you have.

Why don't you fill the gun through the 3 way you have on the sprinkler? It would allow semi auto, and you could put a gauge in the hole left by the pervious fill valve

thats not a bad idea :D, I don't know to much about the valve it was just something given to me by a friend that does combat robotics. I had to cap one of the holes in it, I guess I can just fill thru that?

Well its not bolt action, just a breech load. With your skills it should be no problem. Your cannon deserves it...

I've no doubt you could fabricate a pump action loading mech. Essentially just a bolt action connected to a foregrip would work, but your skills could put out something much more elegant.

Just make the final product ergonomic. Building a cannon for the sake of functionality is great when thats all you're worrying about, but I can definitely see a concern for aesthetics in your work. I'm sure whatever you come up with will exceed expectation.

Not 2" but, I have a 40mm (bore) rotating cross bolt. It required a 2.5" dia x 8", 303 stainless round bar.

Sorry....I don't have any pics of the bolt. Here's a basic description:

One end of the 2.5" round was turned to .750 dia. x approx 4". A flat was added to lock a crank lever in place on the end of the shaft. The other end of the shaft was turned to .750" x approx 1". The center section of the bolt (2.5" x approx 3") was through bored to 40mm. The bolt was placed into a housing and trapped between side plates with shaft bearings.
The projectile feeds from the top and the bolt rotates 90 degrees to the fire position.
