Help With Making A Hammer?

He means when the hammer is at rest, the spring is still compressed so that it will hold that valve open. This is a pilot, not a main valve, so you want the valve to stay open in order for the piston to pilot properly.

and why do I want the hammer at rest to hold the valve open ?
wont that mean when I release the hammer when it hit the stem it will hold the valve open and the stem wont be able to reset - in return just dump all the air ?

Once again that is the point here, since this is a pilot and not a main valve.

I thought long and hard , i understand like 90% of the theory of what has to happen . But a little unsure with some aspects .I guess I just have to go and try it .

just since the stem has the light spring working against a stronger spring ,will it have enough energy to push the hammer spring back?

No...and that's the point.

With the weak valve spring and the stronger hammer spring, the valve will stay open, and the piston valve will pilot.

Yep, and if the valve spring was stronger then the valve would close before the pilot volume is vented fully.
